An occasion upon which a man (who has researched and planned for many months in preparation for this event) has journeyed to the river side in the dead of night with hopes of encountering the long forgotten River Weed Spirit. He has succeeded. This is the first time in over a hundred years such a being has been seen by human eyes.

(I'd appreciate critique/suggestions on the colouring of this one. I wanted it to look dark, as if there's no natural light around, but I think it looks too dingey and just hard to see. That said I know on my laptop it's going to look much brighter than I intended so I'd like to know how it looks for other people.)

Do you mind if I use this for my art project? It has really inspired me! :D

I think it looks great! The use of so many dark tones does give it a dingey look, like you mentioned, but that actually adds to the picture in my opinion.

I think it was a good choice to make the water greener than the grass.

It seems quite bright, but I think the colours totally work. For pictures with such a strong and detailed line work as yours, I don't think it's recommendable to go too dark.

Either way, I totally love the atmosphere of this picture, as well as the composition and juxtaposition of the dude and the pretty huge monster. I always enjoy pictures that place characters into scenes with kind of overwhelming backgrounds or other elements (like the monster here) that make them seem really small. Freaking amazing stuff.

The picture also slightly reminds me of Manu Larcenet's work in Ordinary Victories... [link] Small recommendation there. XD
