great movie too. Sadly enough the original hotel burned down in universal studios some time ago. I still got to see it in real in 2005, though. that was cool
Wooah, you got to see it? That's awesome. You've been everywhere and done it all. I'm jealous.
this is still great. but perhaps if you kept doing it people would say you're 'too seth' indeed
I've seen quite a lot of things in my life, yes. but I'm also a bit older than you. wait up, when things get rollin' you'll be hittin international comic cons and see the world as well. or because of truckloads of money
Comic cons eh. I have a good feeling this comic thing is gonna really kick off for me in the near future. Comic cons scare me though. I've only been to one and it was rubbish. I couldn't take going up to someone's table, talking to them and then not buying their comic. I ended up coming away with a load of poor comics I didn't really want haha.
comic cons are a world of its own. in a way it's my dream to be there, but at the same time it's quite horrible too. in Belgium the main audience are fat sweaty nerdy boys or older smelly men. I too ended up buying poor comics I didn't really want ! haha, guess it's the same. but I also went to stands, had nice chats and then didn't buy stuff. probably wasn't a nice thing, but I just didn't have the money to spend on bad stuff. I would totally understand it if people didn't buy my stuff, but did come to talk with me. comic cons are weird universes anyway. you meet various types of people. in France, a good comic strip artist of mine told, comics are sexy and the main audience are pretty girls. so you now you know where you have to go
I told you about it, but I'll say it again. Angouleme festival is THE COMIC STRIP GATHERING you have to go to. haven't been there yet, but I will next year. it's in south france at the end of january each year. biggest comic strip event in europe, and it's all about european comic strips mainly and just great alternative comic strips and graphic novels worldwide. famous people sign their books and do lectures, like robert crumb, chris ware, charles burns,..all the big guys. I think the comics you make would really work in France. perhaps you should have some stuff translated. I know some people perhaps
I think comics will always be unattractive because they involve hours, weeks, months of solitary confinement that usually results in something the majority of people don't take seriously.
I guess the more cons you go to the easier it is to 'work' them. I'm definitely gonna take my own stuff to some to see what happens. I can take people not liking my stuff much better than the guilt of not buying someone elses haha.
I'm definitely gonna go to Angouleme eventually. That would be amazing for sure.
